<description>Having grown up Catholic, I was used to seeing crosses with the image of Christ on it. Being mesmerized by this cross for several years I thought that, to drive home the meaning of His sacrifice, nails should have been placed where Christs hands and feet would have been.</description>

		<description>Durk,
Holy Cow! Edwards was always nearly impossible for me to read because his thoughts were God-inspired but really complex and obscure. The Israelites called the glory of God "Shekinah", and it followed them throughout the 40-year wilderness thing, manifesting itself in some extraordinary and astonishing phenomena. You make me think, buddy.
By the way, I think very few of us have had much of an encounter with the "Glory of God". When Moses hung out with God in Sinai for 40 days (I think), the "Glory of God" caused his face to shine so brightly that his peeps couldn't even look at him (sunglasses weren't available at that time). What a goal to aspire to, and what a place to be at...in the middle of the glory of God. But more attainable now than 4,000 ago, because Christ tore down the veil that separated the rest of us from the Glory of God (Ephesians), so that we could enter "boldly the throneroom of grace" (Hebrews).
Thanks dude,

		<description>Durk,
I honestly had to read this 2 times. WOW.... just alittle light reading tonight! I loved it so much. Very thought provoking... I want to make sure I am understanding it clearly. Basically what you are saying is... our greatest pleasure for God is to give him glory! We give him Joy when we do well. Am I understanding it? I am ever working on growing stronger in him, this will forever be my journey....
Love to you and your family... thank you for being part of my choices family.....

<description>Durk, you are a very good writer and this was a wonderful start to your efforts on "Sunday evening". Maybe you want to call them the fireside chats now that you have some snow according to the weather reports.

Kay &amp; I both liked David and wondered how the new kid on the block would be standing in his shoes. Clayton stepped into those shoes very gently and was always pointing out how big David's shoes really were. But he has done a wonderful job of leading the church though all the changes of the past 3 - 4 years.

Keep up the learning experience, since it does seem that everytime we review a passage we learn something new.

Thank you for the offer to come visit and, believe me, we are keeping that offer on the table and look forward to the time we can work that out.

God bless and keep both you and Suzie in your new place.

		<description>Hey, my Friend!
That was a compelling journal. I think I probably should have read it 6 months ago, but as you know, I'm late to just about everything. Sarcasm is a very dangerous trait...kind of like a snake-handler church...it may make you feel really great when you're doing it but it could come back to bite. The best to you and Suz!

		<description>Hey Durk!

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who gets teary eyed during certain songs! Plus, I didn't know the title of the song "Indescribable" but the lyrics you quoted helped me to place it from our church here too.

Great song, but an ever greater yet God.

Love ya man and looking forward to an unlimited eternity together with Jesus.

Your brother in Christ,
Brian Rice
A Self Approving Man, Sensitive to the needs of people- using my God given love and care to make a lasting impact on their lives.

<description>Durk, I really enjoyed your thoughts and musings and, from the comments, it sounds like you have found your heaven here on earth. At least for a period of time you will get to enjoy the beauty of God's creation that you have talked about, thought about and dreamed about for a long time. Good for you that you are now enjoying it all.

We will miss having you and Susie around here but as soon as you can find a landing spot, I know you will bring your sunshine to those around you again. Don't wait too long less it becomes too normal to feel that it is too hard to find a place to share what you have.

Take care and hopefully Kay &amp; I might get to come visit sometime.

DeColores,

		<description>Durk,
You are a fully gifted man of Christ. You have a wonderful gift in the ability to share his word and the words of Christians, mixed with earthly life and tell his story all over again. You dont need jokes for it to sink it, or to have more meaning....You have forever changed me. I feel directed in purpose. FREE! I just love you so much! I experience you as one of the most fantastic and dynamic men in my life... full of love and compassion. Showing Gods love in words and actions to the world!
Have a wonderful day! Oh, by the way.... God and I had the most fantastic run on Saturday, we ran over 18 miles. It was AMAZING...it was just he and I as my training partner was on vacation. The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day... and he and I just had a great time! When I saw the finish line, I danced.... I did the dance in the street, with people looking at me, thinking I was all crazy....but literally, I danced in the light of Jesus! That was also an amazing experience! Here is the other 'kicker' for me... I woke up Sunday morning and felt fine. Hardly any soreness... God is the great healer! I am feeling good, I am almost ready to race the race... I am running 40 miles a week now! THAT IS A MIRACLE!
I love ya brother! Thank you for your encouragement in my life....
